Tripdate!
It's finally here! Our team of 10 has begun making their way across the world in anticipation of our upcoming clinics, and should all arrive by Saturday evening. The following days will be spent in team building, planning meetings, and preparation for patients to arrive starting Thursday. We are excited about recent developments including several additional area churches joining us not only to share the Gospel during the clinics, but also to follow up with people who express an interest in hearing more. This creates an opportunity for those who travel from other parts of the city to connect with a church in their own community. Also, we have formed agreements with local specialists to help with patient followup and any urgent needs that present themselves during the clinics.
We are hopeful that as people's physical needs are met, they are able to see the Gospel at work in tangible ways and be introduced to God's kingdom. We are reminded of Paul's words to the Romans: "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" Please pray with us that hearts would be changed through preaching that leads to believing and calling on the name of Jesus! The needs are desperate, as H3 doctor Jeremy Allen reminds us:
Unbelievable.
We can't begin to express our thanks to all of our faithful long-term donors, our donors that have set up monthly giving in the last year, and our brand-new donors. There has been a lot of stress going into this trip, as we have a smaller team to raise funds, and greater clinic expenses than ever before. Dr. Mike even contacted former team members to see if they would consider donating toward the clinics, even though they are unable to go this year. We are so thankful to the many who responded. Your generosity amazes us, and makes the work we do in Uganda possible. Between now and the end of the year, in addition to monthly giving, our H3 Uganda team will need $8,500 to cover our budget. We are trusting God to provide what we need!
